What does the word "hybrid" mean?

Hybrid is commonly used to describe courses that combine face-to-face classroom instruction with computer-based learning. A hybrid essentially splits the required classroom time between campus rooms and the Internet, resulting in a reduction of the amount of time spent on campus.

If you have registered for a hybrid course, you must attend scheduled meetings on campus, as printed in the AACC Schedule of Credit Classes.

To participate in a hybrid course, you need:

• Internet access
• Recommended browser
• Basic e-mail and Web skills
• Review the technical requirements for more information.

It is also recommended that you have:

• A good understanding of computer hardware and software applications and the Internet
• Good time management skills
• Self-motivation
