Classes for Senior Adults

AACC offers senior adult classes on the main campus in Arnold as well as through the county senior centers and other locations. The courses are for seniors age 55 and older and disabled retirees so certified by the Social Security Administration. While the fee structure for all senior courses is the same, registration for courses held on the Arnold campus is handled differently than those being held at the various senior centers and is explained below.

Registration for Courses Held on the Arnold Campus
Seniors and disabled retirees can register now for fall courses held at the Arnold campus. These classes are listed in the Noncredit Schedule of Classes and follow the same registration dates as all other noncredit open enrollment classes. Winter 2010 registration will begin Oct. 1, 2009. You can register via online, fax, mail, STARS or in person.

Registration for Courses Held at the Senior Centers
Registration for winter 2010 courses held at the senior centers begins Oct. 26 and course listings will be available online and at each senior center at that time. You can register for these courses online, fax, mail, STARS or in person at the Continuing Education registration counter CALT 115 on the Arnold Campus. You may also drop off your registration form at each senior center for the courses being held at that senior center through Sept. 21 for fall courses.

Fees
Senior courses are for individuals age 55 and older and disabled retirees so certified by the Social Security Administration. Seniors ages 55-59 must pay $40 tuition per course plus a $40 administrative fee per three-month cycle (cycle fee). Seniors age 60 and older and disabled retirees pay only the $40 cycle fee. All seniors ages 55 and older and disabled retirees must pay for supplies and lab fees. Course cycles are January-March, April-June, July-September and October-December. Disabled retirees must complete a Disability Verification Forms which is available through the AACC business office and at most senior centers. Yearly verification is required
