For Nontraditional Students
Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) offers an array of services for nontraditional students.
At AACC you have many opportunities to connect with staff who appreciate your various the roles and responsibilities. We understand the issues facing you as well as your concerns. We know that adult students often feel unprepared to compete with younger students in the classroom. Adult students juggle many roles and you may feel extracurricular activities are a burden. However, students who attend class but leave campus without forming supportive relationships may exit the college without achieving their goals.

Our services are offered in a variety of formats and at various times throughout the day.
- Advising services are available through the Counseling, Advising and Retention Services Office (CARS). Because CARS staff members understand adult students have competing priorities, multiple roles and varied schedules, the office offers services throughout the day, in the evening, on weekends, online and via the web. Retention services offered in the CARS Office allow you to connect with faculty members, your advisor, a tutor or a fellow students.
- Student Life offers you an opportunity to become involved in student organizations and clubs or to attend entertaining events. Many of our academic clubs are appealing to adult students. They offer networking opportunities related to your intended field and activities are available at convenient times. We know that you are busy and have little free time to pursue some of our campus activities but many of the programs and events are enjoyable for the whole family. Drive-in movies, theatrical plays, the Dance Company performances, sporting events, and concerts are a few of the programs available to you and your family. Drop into the Student Life Office or contact them at 410-777-2218 to learn more about events or clubs.
